Muttama House
Deconstruction / Reconstruction
Client: Owner, Muttama House
Muttama House is a circa 1908 Queen Anne/Arts & Crafts-style villa, which is situated in the Artarmon Heritage Conservation Area (C1, WLEP). Restore was engaged to prepare a detailed Deconstruction / Reconstruction Methodology and Archival Recording.
Restore provided crucial insights into mitigating heritage impacts of a new development at the rear of the site. Our focus encompassed a delicate balance between progress and preservation, emphasizing the deconstruction-reconstruction methodology for the front verandah and facade. This approach not only accommodates the introduction of basement parking but also ensures the conservation of the structure's historical integrity.

The project stands as a testament to our commitment to heritage stewardship, where our advisory role seamlessly blends architectural expertise, preservation principles, and innovative solutions.
